Technology

At Peak Dental, we make every effort to stay up to date with dental technology and treatments. Any technology we choose for our office must provide some benefit to you and make your treatment as comfortable and efficient as possible.

Here are just a few of the ways we use technology to bring you the most updated, effective treatment available today.

Intraoral Cameras

When you sit in the dental chair, do you ever wonder what the dentist is seeing when he or she examines your teeth? At Peak Dental, we use state-of-the-art intraoral cameras because we know it's easier to understand the need for treatment when you can see exactly what we're seeing

Intraoral cameras serve that purpose perfectly. An intraoral camera is a small wand about the size of a pen. It contains a miniature camera that takes digital images and displays them on an overhead monitor. These images are clear and precise, making it easy for us to communicate the most minute problems that may be developing. Intraoral cameras allow us to discuss in detail what we're seeing and the ways in which we can correct the problem. With intraoral cameras, you can truly be an active part of your dental care.

Digital X-Rays

Digital radiography (x-rays) is one of the most valuable types of technology we use. The precise images produced with this equipment allow us to look for and detect cavities existing between teeth and to see problems that may be developing below the gum line. The process is faster and easier than traditional x-rays, and the digital images can be enhanced and viewed on a monitor next to your chair so you can see exactly what it is we see.

Some of our patients have expressed concern about the radiation exposure involved with x-rays. Our digital radiography is a type of imaging that uses digital x-ray sensors in place of traditional x-ray films. Most importantly, digital x-rays emit up to 90% less radiation than traditional film x-rays.

VITA Easyshade

The VITA Easyshade is the most advanced device for taking shades on the market. This device, in conjunction with photography and communication with our labs, allows us to get accurate shade matching to your existing teeth for crowns and veneers. This helps us achieve a natural, consistent smile overall.

Air Abrasion

Air abrasion is a fast, silent, drill-less option to remove decay and perform other minimally invasive dental treatments. For young children who are fearful of dental tools, this can be a great substitute to help ease any anxiety.
